Millenial Pressure Builds

“If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way” - MLK Jr.

So my husband and I had this discussion this morning, and I had a similar discussion with my oldest daughter (15) last night. I have a lot of thoughts about this, but to sum it up. We, as a society, put a lot on the shoulders of the younger generation, telling them that they need to be the ones to make a change in the world. That is a lot of pressure to put on people who aren't even old enough to vote!

When will we, as the older generation, step up and show these young people HOW to make a change, HOW to respond to pressure and HOW to find your voice in the crowd? We need to equip this generation with the emotional strength to handle all that we have put on them. Until someone figures out how to do so, we will continue to cripple our children with unrealistic expectations.

You can't turn your back and say they are entitled and lazy, you can't say, "that is just the way this(my) generation is", you HAVE to be there, support, and most of all LEAD by example. Times are changing, change is painful, but Small gestures lead to massive change.

You can't have a blizzard with out a ton of determined snowflakes. Just my two cents.
